Leisure Areas

The Council owns and maintains a number of playgrounds and open spaces in Warboys which are available for use by the public.

The Adams Lyons playground in Church Road is the largest and has the widest range of play equipment for both teenagers and younger children. The Council has invested over £70,000 in new equipment over the last 4 years and is grateful to various funders who have helped with grants towards the cost, including Cambridgeshire Play Pathfinder scheme, Woodford Community and Environmental Fund and Red Tile Wind Farm Trust Fund Ltd.

Jubilee Park in Farriers Way was acquired by the Council towards the end of 2013 from the developers of that estate. Play equipment specifically designed for the under 8s was installed in 2014 with the assistance of a grant from Amey Cespa Ltd. and the park also incorporates a community orchard planted by Greener Futures with funding from the Big Lottery Fund.

The playground in Orchard Close is smaller but has benefitted from new equipment designed for smaller children which was installed in 2015 with the assistance of a grant from Woodford Community and Environmental Fund.

The pond known as The Weir at the junction of High Street and Mill Green is common land registered to the ownership of the Council, as is the Heath Pond and Sheepwash in Heath Road.

All of the above, with the exception of Jubilee Park are subject to byelaws made by the Council which can be found on the Documents page
